FS8 Policies
FS8 Policies & Procedures
The membership, billing, and cancellation policies for FS8 South Lake Union members. These are pulled from the current FS8 SLU Membership Agreement.
Class Reservations, Late-Cancel & No-Show
A 'class' is a single booked workout. If you cancel your reservation within 4 hours of class start, you lose that class booking from your account. If you do not attend a class you are reserved for and do not cancel, a $12 no-show fee will be charged to your account. The first no-show fee incurred each calendar month is waived.
Late Arrival Policy
To ensure a safe, organized, and uninterrupted workout experience, members should arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins. This allows enough time to check in, get settled, and prepare for the workout. We understand that traffic and unexpected delays happen. Members who arrive after class has started may still participate only if they arrive before the warm-up ends, typically four to five minutes after the scheduled class time. Members arriving during this window will receive a reminder about the late arrival policy. For the safety of our members, anyone arriving after the warm-up has ended will not be permitted to join the class. The warm-up is an important part of preparing your body for the workout, and allowing members to enter after it has ended creates additional safety and liability concerns. Our liability insurance also requires us to maintain and enforce a late-arrival policy. If a class has a waitlist, all reserved spots may be released to waiting members at the scheduled class start time. This means that even if you arrive only a few minutes late, your spot may already have been given to another member and entry cannot be guaranteed. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to protect your reservation, prepare safely for class, and help us start each workout on time.
Membership Term & Auto-Renewal
Memberships are offered on 1-month, 6-month, or 12-month terms with either 4, 8, or 12 classes per month. The contract begins on your contract start date and automatically renews on a month-to-month basis at the recurring rate once the initial term is complete, until you cancel. FS8 reserves the right to increase month-to-month membership fees with 30 days' notice.
Membership Suspension (Medical or Military)
You may request a membership suspension for valid medical reasons or military duty. Appropriate supporting documentation is required (for example, a doctor's note or official military orders). Contact the studio directly to start a suspension request.
Membership Cancellation
To cancel a recurring membership and stop future billing, the member must provide written notice via email or text message from the contact information associated with the account. We maintain a 30-day written cancellation notice period to comply with Washington State law governing health-studio and fitness memberships. The 30-day notice period begins on the date written notice is received by the studio. After written notice is received, the studio provides a cancellation form, which must be completed and returned to finalize the cancellation. Cancellation is not effective until both the written notice is received and the cancellation form is completed — billing continues until both are satisfied. You will be billed for one additional billing cycle following the notice date, and the membership remains active during that period. Verbal requests to cancel, including those made to coaches or staff, do not constitute valid notice of cancellation.
Early Contract Cancellation
If your membership has a minimum term and you wish to cancel before the end of your contract term, you will be charged an early cancellation fee equal to 50% of the remaining balance of your fixed term plus sales tax, except as required by law. This fee represents a reasonable estimate of damages incurred.
Payments, Failed Payments & Bank Fees
By signing your membership agreement, you authorize NW PTY LLC (dba FS8) to charge your payment method on file for recurring membership fees, retail purchases, late fees, and any other applicable charges. If a credit card or ACH payment fails to authorize, a $20 late fee applies if valid payment information is not provided within 10 calendar days of the original rejection date. Any bank fee imposed on FS8 by your credit card company or bank (for closed accounts, insufficient funds, chargebacks, etc.) will be charged to your account plus a $20 processing fee. FS8 may retry failed payments at its discretion.
Refunds
No refunds are offered on any membership fees except as required by law. If FS8 terminates your agreement, or a government agency determines a refund is due, the refund is calculated by dividing the contract price by the number of weeks in the contract term and multiplying by the number of weeks remaining.
Chargebacks & Billing Disputes
Members agree to contact the studio directly to resolve any billing issues before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with their bank or credit card provider. If a chargeback is initiated, this agreement and the studio's policies and records may be used as evidence to dispute it. Any unpaid balances, fees, or costs associated with a chargeback — including administrative and processing fees — may be charged to the member's account and must be paid in full. Initiating a chargeback does not cancel this agreement or relieve you of payment obligations.
Termination by FS8
FS8 may terminate or refuse to renew a membership for any reason not prohibited by law, including unsatisfactory payment history or failure to comply with studio rules or policies. FS8 reserves the right to collect any delinquent or outstanding balances at any time.
Age Requirement
The minimum age for training with FS8 is 16. For members under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign a Parental Guardian Authorization Form and Liability Waiver before the member may train with FS8.
3-Day Right to Cancel New Agreements
You may cancel a newly signed membership agreement in writing prior to midnight of the third business day after the transaction.
Communications & Media
By signing up for an intro offer or by signing your membership agreement, you consent to receive class reminders, waitlist notifications, account management appointments, transaction notices, and promotions via email, phone, or text (which may be sent via an auto-dialer; standard message and data rates may apply). You may opt out at any time. FS8 may also use member images (video or photo) for promotional purposes from time to time.
Force Majeure
FS8 is not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, natural disasters, pandemics, governmental actions, labor disputes, utility failures, or other events that make it impracticable or unsafe to operate the studio. In such circumstances, FS8 reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel services, and to extend or adjust membership terms at its discretion, to the extent permitted by law.
Governing Law
Any dispute arising under the membership agreement is governed by Washington law. If the dispute requires the employ of an attorney, the member agrees to pay all attorneys' fees and costs associated with any action to collect the obligation. The membership agreement is not transferable by the member.
